The Belize• Hotel Association (BHA) is a non-profit, non-government Organization whose membership is comprised primarily of hoteliers with a category of allied members who serve the hospitality industry.
BHA is an active participant in major decision making bodies affecting the growth, development and maintenance of the tourism industry. This includes holding a seat on the Board of Directors of the Belize Tourism Industry Association, the country's largest tourism private sector organization.
In addition the BHA holds seats on several government committees, including the• Cruise ship licensing Committee, the Tour Operator Licensing Committee, the National Tourism Anti- Crime Committee, the Belize Tourism Board's Marketing Committee, and the National Tax Reform Committee.
BHA is also a member of the Caribbean Hotel Association, CHA. It is represented on the CHA Board by the president of the association.
The Belize Hotel Association encourages and supports the sustainable growth of member hotels through lobbying efforts, national and international linkages, marketing initiatives and training opportunities. It’s main objectives are:
• To establish partnerships and links with Government Ministries and non-government agencies and associations.
• To be a proactive and reactive lobby force with the Government of Belize for the a:commodation sector
• To organize workshops, seminars, and training opportunities for the Tourism Industry
• To facilitate productive sales, advertising and marketing capabilities through cooperative advertising campaigns
