So what’s Adventure Travel…?
In essence you’ll follow a pre-planned itinerary, which is designed so you enjoy memorable cultural experiences, as well as seeing the ‘must see’ highlights.
You travel within a small group led by an experienced leader who knows the country, the people, and the language. They’ll make sure you miss nothing.
Therefore you’ll see and do more on an adventure holiday compared to any other style of trip. All the planning is done so it’s ideal for people without the time or inclination to organise their next adventure
“I’d like to thank you for a wonderful holiday in Egypt. Our guide Saif was absolutely brilliant – attentive, knowledgeable, organised and fun…”
David Ferguson – Feluccas & Pharaohs
The group is made up of around 6 – 14 like-minded travellers, ideal if you want to meet people with similar values and interests. There is nothing like shared experiences to bring people together…
“The rest of my group really made the trip. I cannot remember the last time I laughed so much.” Wendy Hooper – Sri Lankan Discovery

Background on The Adventure Company
The Adventure Company (www.adventurecompany.co.uk) operates small group trips worldwide, with itineraries tailored to suit travellers of all ages with a wanderlust for adventure, culture and discovery.
The selection of over 200 trips across all continents allows travellers to go trekking, spot wildlife, discover fascinating cultures and ways of life, see the stars from a desert wilderness or try new activities from rafting to dog-sledding.
The Worldwide Adventures brochure combines classic journeys - such as walking the Inca Trail; sailing down the Nile; and climbing Kilimanjaro – with a range of other inspiring adventures including Arctic and Antarctic cruises; tracking bears and wolves in Slovakia; horseback riding in Kyrgyzstan; and a winter ascent of Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak.
Experiencing a destination rather than just visiting it is key to The Adventure Company’s ethos - all trips are led by local guides who offer invaluable knowledge of the culture, whilst interaction with local people is also a key element of many trips. Spending a night in a Bedouin camp in Jordan; sailing out with local fishermen in Sri Lanka; or bush-walking with Masai Warriors in Kenya are just some of the unforgettable experiences the company offers.
The Adventure Company is also a pioneer of family travel, now offering a wider portfolio of trips than any of its main competitors. Its dedicated Family Adventures brochures features a range of trips suited to travel with kids – including multi-activity holidays in Europe; journeys of cultural discovery in the Middle East; and once-in-a-lifetime experiences such as trekking in the Himalayas and exotic animal encounters.
The company was the first to offer specialised Infant Adventures for kids as young as two; and also now features a selection of slightly tougher and more ‘grown up’ trips aimed at teenagers.
The model 2.4-child family is increasingly rare and almost half of the families travelling with The Adventure Company contain just one adult or one child. The group departures are ideal for ‘non-average’ families, enabling both parents and kids to spend time with their own peers. Certain trips even offer designated single parent departures.
Our Hands on Adventures are new, they combine sightseeing with a few days’ involvement in a conservation or community based tourism project. Examples include a stay with San bushmen in Namibia to discover their legendary knowledge of animals and survival; or assisting in turtle conservation in Panama.
