Sue Meredith will be demonstrating Cold enamelling. This type of enamelling doesn’t need a kiln. The enamels are made from acrylic powder not the traditional vitreous enamel which needs temperatures exceeding 800 degrees C. Sue will show how the copper shapes and copper foil can be coloured and fired using a simple food warmer heated by tea lights or at home an everyday domestic oven. Sue will show that not only copper shapes and foil can be used but glass, stone, ceramics in fact anything that can withstand a temperature of only 150 degrees.
