AUSTRALIAN WEDDINGS BOOMING
AS COUPLES ESCAPE DOWN UNDER
It seems recession at home is having an opposite effect on weddings downunder. Aussie specialists, Freedom Australia have seen their wedding business rise by over 50% this year, with honeymoon bookings up a staggering 65%. All venues have seen an increase, including luxury island resorts, rainforest retreats, weddings in Sydney and even Ayers Rock.
Wedding specialist Jenny Snow says, "We have made the wedding process much simpler and cheaper by including many of the extras in the standard price". Weddings start at just £1295 per couple, including the ceremony, flowers and wine, his and her massage and five nights beachfront accommodation. Also included are the services of an on-site wedding co-ordinator who will arrange the whole day. Honeymoon packages usually include room upgrades, massages, flowers and wine.
