Discover Borneo (New from Xplore Asia)
Day 1 Kuala Lumpur – Kota Kinabalu
Arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and transfer for the Malaysian Airlines flight to Kota Kinabalu, spend the night at the fantastic Tanjung Aru resort where you can enjoy the beach or relax.

Day 2 Kota Kinabalu – Kinabalu Park (B/L/D)
Leaving Kota Kinabalu behind start driving up the mountain keeping Mount Kinabulu in sight, he drive takes about one and a half to reach the view point of Mount Kinabalu standing at 4095m it is the highest peak in the region and famous for its annual world climbathon challenge where competitors run up and down the mountain. The normal climb to the summit and back takes around 2 days / 1 Night. Enjoy a tour of Kinabalu Park. After lunch drive to the nearby Hot Springs at Poring and enjoy a short Canopy walk and a walk to the nearby waterfall. In the afternoon drive back along the mountain road to your lodge overlooking Mount Kinabalu.

Day 4 Kinabalu Park – Sukau (B/L/D)
Continue driving across Sabah and start the descent down the mountain, passing the town of Ranau it is about a three hour drive to our first stop, Gomantong Cave. Walk inside the cave along the walkway. This cave is home to millions of Bats and walking through is quite a unique experience. The cave is also home to Swiflets. These Swiflets make there nests with Saliva, The nests are collected by the locals and sold to make the well known Chinese Birdnest soup.

Continue the drive for another half and hour to Sukau where lunch will be provided.

In the afternoon take a boat ride on the Kinabatangan River in search of primates including the Proboscis Monkeys, Wild Elephants, and a host of birdlife including hornbills. Return to the lodge where you will be staying for the night

Day 5 Sukau - Sepilok (B/L)
Wake up by the calls of nature and take an early morning boat ride on Ox Bow Lake to observe the wildlife and experience the early morning river ambience of the longest river of Sabah. Return to your lodge for breakfast and then check out for the half hour drive to Sepilok check into your lodge and after lunch, spend the afternoon at the Orangutan Sanctuary just a two minute walk from the lodge.

The Orangutan Sanctuary covers 4,000 hectares and is one of only 4 in the world. Orphaned Orang-utans are taken here to be rehabilitated, before being returned to the wild. Visit the sanctuary for the official afternoon feeding time.

There is an optional night walk through the Orangutan Sanctuary, with the ranger trying to spot the Orangutans and the other wildlife that come out at night including the Slow Loris, long-tail macaques, ground squirrels, butterflies and tree lizards.

Day 6 Sepilok - Selingan Island (B/L/D)
After breakfast, drive the short 30 minute ride to the Jetty at Sandakan for the 2 ½ hour boat ride to Selingan Island, have lunch at the Island and spend the afternoon swimming or snorkelling. After dinner the adventure begins when the rangers take you to see the Green and Horksbill turtles. Watch quietly as the turtles come on shore to lay their eggs and the newly-hatched creatures make their way to the sea for the first time.

Day 7 Selingan Island – Sandakan – Labuk Bay (B/L)
Return by boat to Sandakan where you will have lunch in town. Travel to Labuk bay stopping on the way at the Jih Syh Chinese Buddist Temple which offers a panoramic view of Sandakan Bay. Spend the afternoon at the lodge relaxing set in the heart of the Mangrove forest and the Labuk Bay Sanctuary just a short walk from the ocean.

Take an optional Night walk to see the fire flies around the bay normally at about 7pm

Day 8 Labuk Bay (B/L)
Today is a true highlight visit the nearby Labuk Bay Sanctuary home to the Proboscis Monkeys. This sanctuary has a few hundred of these Monkey’s, and many of them can be seen here. You can spend a good few hours here enjoying and watching there interactions with the Male Dominant Monkeys with it big belly and long nose surrounded by up to 30 females! The other group is a Hareb bachelor group which stay separately. Return to the lodge in the afternoon where you can enjoy some free time.

Day 9 Selingan Island – Sandakan – Kuala Lumpur - Langkawi (B/L)
Transfer from the resort to Sandakan Airport where you will take the flight back to Kuala Lumpur.

Take the Coastal Road with Xplore Asia
Take the Coastal Road from Bangkok to Nakon Sri Thammarat in the South of Thailand and discover the charm and traditions of this unique part of Thailand.

Firstly we spend time relaxing at The Thai Cultural Centre at the Rose Garden Resort, visit and eco friendly farm in the morning, then you learn to cook your own Thai lunch followed by watching the Thai Cultural show before visiting the largest Chedi in Thailand at Nakon Prathom.

The next day we head out along Thailand's route 66, Petchkasem Road, which runs from the Capital to the Malaysian Border, stopping to see King Rama VI's summer palace Khao Wang at Phetchburi and arriving in the charming seaside resort of Hua-Hin, these days the home of the Thai Royal Family.

We spend two full days in Hua Hin here sightseeing and relaxing on the beach, visiting the Pala-U waterfall,and Kaeng Krachan National Park, well know for its wildlife, before heading further South via Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, to see Phra Khiri Nakron, a wonderful cliff top temple, on the way to Chumporn.

Chumporn is where Southern Thailand really starts, our day will take you to the local museum with its WWII history and a cyclone that hit the regionamongst it's exhibits, then we continue to nearby Temples, a fruit farm and caves as we take a relaxing journey along the coast to the former Kingdom and Capital of the Southern Region Nakon Sri Thammarat, a city steeped in History and Culture.

We spend two days at our beach side hotel, with daily tours taken to explore the city and surrounding countryside.

On the city tour you will learn the Buddhist history of the area, as we explore the most imporatant temple in the region, Wat Mahathat, the nearby national museum, houses relics from the past, helping your understand the area.

Also we take you to see local handicraft centres including pottery making,and visit the Home of the Thai Shadow puppet show, which tells stories of local traditions and this is unique to this part of south.

Another highlight of our visit to Nakon is our full day explorig nearby Khao Luang National Park, as we trek for four hours to Krung Ching waterfall, one of the finest in the country. There will be time here for swimming before heading for kayaking and a cave visit, before returning to our hotel. (Please note: For the less active we are able to arrange alternative trips to nearby places of interest instead of the trek.) Please ask for details.

Our last day of traveling takes us from the East Coast to the west and the Andaman Sea side of the Southern part of the country, as we head for the beautiful beaches and islands of Trang.

On the way we will visit the Eco Tourism village at Baan Khiriwong where you will see local techniques used to make batik materials and gifts using local fruits such as mangosteen and how cutlery is made from coconut shells.

Before reaching Trang we make a stop at Tham Le, which is an inland system of caves for an exhilerating boat trip. (Optional)

Arriving late afternoon in Trang, time to relax and prepare for the final day of the tour, the four islands of Trang, by boat, The outer Islands of Trang, really are the gems of the region, with fantastic beaches, clear waters for snorkellng, this is Southern Thailand at it's best. A full day is spent exploring the islands before returning to the hotel.

Xplore-Asia is able to offer a full range of beach extensions after the tour in Nearby Krabi, Phuket, Phi-Phi Island and Koh Lanta or choose to return to Bangkok and continue your Journey.
