Holiday of the Week: Croatian Islands Luxury Cruise
Company Name: The Small Cruise Ship Collection
Name of trip: Croatian Islands Luxury Cruise
Length of trip: 8 days
Croatia's coast: Croatia's Adriatic Coast is custom made for small ships. Many islands and small ports that are inaccessible to any but the smallest cruise ships; Classic Mediterranean weather; Historic towns and cities; Warm seas teeming with colourful fish; fantastic local cuisine and wines.
Transport: Cruise on a moving boutique hotel! Travel on a modern and luxurious small cruise ship that carries just 40 people. Every cabin has en-suite shower/WC and air-conditioning. Breakfasts and lunches are a treat of local foods while for evening meals you can explore the varied local restaurants.
Split & Dubrovnik: Magnificent as Dubrovnik is with its medieval walls and picturesque setting, many of those in the know prefer the vibrancy of Split. Split is built into the remains of Diocletian’s Palace which is now a huge, ancient, traffic-free warren of shops, cafes, homes, restaurants and historic monuments.
Local Cuisine: Many of the small restaurants that abound source their food from their own farms. Cheese, vegetables, fruit and wine are often home grown (small local vineyards are excellent) and where better to source fresh fish then the harbours we are moored in?
Historical towns: This coastline has been controlled by Greece, Rome, Byzantium, Italy, Ottomans, Venice, Austro‐Hungary and Croatia. The centuries old towns of Korcula - birth place of Marco Polo; Mljet – With its monastery on an island on a lake on an island; Hvar – Known as a jetset village with its gloriously pretty harbour and medieval hillfort, have a huge range of wonderfully preserved architecture.
Cost of the trip: £1,083 - depending on date and cabin choice
