Title: There's only one Japan: Inspirational experiences in the Land of the Rising Sun
Speaker: Maddy Rodell
Company: InsideJapan Tours

InsideJapan Tours will be giving an inspirational overview to this country which remains a mystery to many. This insightful presentation will take you beyond the bright lights of the Tokyo Metropolis, presenting a country that is more than neon, futuristic buildings and sushi. The Japan experts will reveal traditional villages, towering mountains and hot spring towns, wildlife and wilderness in the northern island of Hokkaido and the sub tropical beaches and jungle in the southern Okinawan islands. A window into the life and culture of Japan, the wonderful people and their beautiful country will be given through first hand experiences along with an update on the reality of life after the tsunami.

Having studied Japanese at school and university, Maddy headed to Japan to live in the country that she had read so much about. She soon took to life in Japan as an English teacher on the government run JET programme teaching in the rural Toyama city on the Japan Sea Coast. Maddy was involved in local charity fundraising in Toyama and translating theatre and has travelled extensively throughout Japan. Her passion for the country and culture is plain to see and shines through in her work for InsideJapan Tours and she is keen to share experiences with Destinations London.

InsideJapan Tours are a small dedicated team of people with a passion for Japan. The Japan travel specialists were set up in 2000 with each member of the team having lived, worked and travelled extensively in Japan as well as speaking Japanese.
