Manchester Bhangra Society

Manchester Bhangra Society, better known as Ruhan Punjab Diyan (Spirits of Punjab), is a diverse society showcasing a highly energetic and extremely enjoyable dance from the Punjab, India. The society not only teaches the art of Bhangra dance to students, but also brings together people from different backgrounds to create a supportive yet diverse community. Whilst offering weekly classes to university students, the society has performed alongside Punjabi MC and Angrez Ali and has even featured in many music videos for the likes of Alisha Dixon and Surinder Saini. In addition, we have performed in many competitions such as The Bhangra Showdown, hosted at the Hammersmith Apollo in London which allows the top Bhangra teams in the country to compete. In the future we hope to bring to Manchester even more fun, even more dancing and even more balle balle!
