From the Poles to the Plains - a photographic study
Speaker: Paul Goldstein
Company: Exodus Travels
Date: Saturday 2nd February
Time: 12.00pm
Location: Theatre 2
Photographer, author and guide Paul Goldstein has spent much of the last 20 years guiding photographic safaris and expeditions principally in Africa, Antarctica, Spitsbergen and India.
Predators, namely tigers, bears, lions, leopards and cheetahs are his principle quarry but just as important is his sensitive approach to his subjects. Clinical, sterile and regimented days are never on his agenda as the many thousand people he has guided will testify to and mainstream holidays - from mammoth ethically questionable cruise ships to crowded minibuses on the plains are also off his radar. Long days in the field, up before the sun has even got out of bed are his mating calls and his results on the back of this approach are spectacular.
Opinionated, fiercely passionate and protective about the wildernesses he loves, Paul is not afraid of courting controversy, but realising that many of his favourite areas are precarious as well as intoxicating, his approach is sustainable as well as rewarding.
Anyone remotely interested in wilderness or wildlife should not miss this presentation, lavishly illustrated it will not be short on hilarious yet also informative anecdotes. You have been warned.
