THE HEART OF AFRICA

Company: AIM4AFRICA LTD

Speaker: PATRICK CUTINHA

Date: Saturday 1st March

Time: 1.00pm

At the heart of Africa, Tanzania is a land of unparalleled natural beauty and as yet unspoilt, making it a haven for trekkers and adventurers of all ages and interests.

The Presenter will provide an insight to this beautiful and unique country – from scaling the Roof of Africa – Kilimanjaro, and other volcanoes in the area, as well as trekking in the footsteps of Maasai Warriors – an ecological and soul-rejuvenating experience for the discerning traveller.

The presentation will include details on pre-trek preparation and detailed information on various routes up Kilimanjaro, and an insight into how to successfully attempt to conquer the world’s highest freestanding peak at 5,895m and spectacular photographs of this beautiful mountain.

Famous landmarks such as the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Selous and Zanzibar will also be described in an attempt to provide an overview of this land of immense natural beauty with its friendly, welcoming peoples.

There is so much to see and do in Africa – Tanzania stands proud of having the very best that Africa has to offer: from snow capped peak to endless plains, and from turquoise blue seas fringed with white sandy beaches to unspoilt rainforests where one can track chimpanzees free from pollution and commercialism.

Patrick Cutinha, born and raised in Tanzania, now lives in the UK. He visits the land of his birth often, and has scaled Kilimanjaro several times using different routes, as well as Mt Meru and Oldonyo L’Engai (the active “Mountain of God”). Although Kilimanjaro is where his heart lies – he is extremely passionate about Tanzania as a whole, and offers invaluable information and practical advice from an insider’s perspective. Patrick is also a director of Aim 4 Africa Ltd, specialising in bespoke, responsible travel to East Africa (Stand AF8, www.aim4africa.com).
