Habitat for Humanity GB Team Leader
Chris is an experienced Habitat volunteer, having completed his first Global Village build in Thailand in 2015 and subsequently worked with Habitat across Southeast Asia, Africa and South America on projects involving house building, slum rehabilitation and water, sanitation and hygiene. He is also a Team Leader for the charity, leading his first trip in Kenya in the summer of 2018, and leading a team of volunteers to Ethiopia in November 2019.
Chris was originally inspired to get involved with Habitat’s Global Village programme after learning about the charity’s work from colleagues who had been involved with a build in Zambia, and is passionate about the work that Habitat do to give people across the world a safe place to live. Being able to actively participate in alleviating housing poverty and building communities through Global Village trips has become a regular part of Chris’ life.
Outside of his volunteering work with Habitat, Chris has worked for a global insurance broker for the past decade, supporting businesses of all sizes with their insurance needs. He is also a keen sportsman, playing both football and cricket regularly, and taking part in marathons and half-marathons to raise money for a number of charities.
