Amongst other journeys, Julian Sayarer has cycled six times across Europe, set an 18,000-mile world record for a circumnavigation by bicycle, hitchhiked the US and visited remote islanders of the Indian Ocean. Julian's writing has appeared in the London Review of Books, New Statesman, Aeon Magazine, and many others. He writes slow travel informed by a background in political science, his writing from the roadside a 12mph view of the world in passing. He won the Stanford Dolman Travel Book of the Year in 2017 for his previous book Interstate.
