Description
Phoebe Smith, travel writer, broadcaster and presenter likes to sleep wild - from caves to mountain tops, disused farmsteads and under giant boulders; if it's a wild place she wants to take out her sleeping bag and experience a wild night out.
However, when it comes to food, she does not scrimp on flavour, even if she’s carrying the necessary cooking equipment whilst camping.
Phoebe teaches you the tricks to make the tastiest food with limited ingredients and camping equipment so that you can be assured of good food that won’t break the bank or your back. She also adds that secret extra ingredient to each recipe by terrain – an incredible sense of place, from moorland to coast, woodland, mountains or riverside – so that your entire experience is a feast for all the senses.
She has seen her love of wilderness take her on solo adventures all around the world - from wild camping on the Scottish islands to portaledging in trees in the Bavarian Alps and bedding down inside glaciers in Svalbard, the last stop before the North Pole.
She is author of ten books and award-winning Editor-at-Large of Wanderlust, the adventure travel magazine. After the event, she will be signing copies of her books including The Wilderness Cookbook at Stanfords stand E8.
